A. J. Mohammad Ali (Abdul Jamil Mohammad Ali) was a Bangladeshi lawyer. Born on December 15, 1951, in Naogaon, he passed away on May 2, 2024, at the age of 72 in Singapore. His father, M. H. Khandaker, holds the distinction of being the first Attorney General of Bangladesh.   

Mr. Ali's legal career saw him enroll to practice in the High Court in 1980 and in the Appellate Division in 1985. He was appointed as the Additional Attorney General on October 23, 2001, and subsequently served as the 12th Attorney General of Bangladesh from April 30, 2005, to January 24, 2007.   

Beyond his role as Attorney General, A. J. Mohammad Ali held significant positions within the legal fraternity. He served as the president of the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association and also as the chairman of the Bangladesh Bar Council's executive committee. Furthermore, he was the president of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum.   

In his capacity as a lawyer, Mr. Ali represented prominent individuals, including former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case, and also Moudud Ahmed.
